Photo Calendar Washi
Washi is a calendar in the spirit of Japanese ink painting. On cream rice paper with visible fibers, the photo sits in a circle surrounded by an enso, a ring painted with a single brushstroke. A branch reaches in from the side and changes with the seasons: pine in winter, bamboo in spring and summer, and susuki grass in autumn. Next to it stand the month number and a small cinnabar seal, like an artist’s signature, and an indigo band with a traditional wave pattern runs along the bottom.
This calm, understated style suits bright, minimalist interiors and will delight lovers of Japan, yoga and gardens. The round frame shows off flowers, landscapes, the sea, mountains and travel photos beautifully. On the cover, your own title appears in cream letters on the indigo band, like the paper band on a Japanese book.
